Configuration radiusd

This is a guide to configure RAS using a Radius Daemon (radiusd)together
with a BinTec (BRICK) Router

  1. Install the Radius software with appropriate user rights.
  2. Determine the default port for the radius requests or set the port, when
starting up the the radius either in your inet.conf-file or another bootup-script.
  3. Verify the daemon is active, and that the shared passwort has been set.
  4. A standard user's entry would could look like this:

    # radius test user

    rasuser Password = "blubberblubber",
    # rasuser is the PPP-ID with PAP-Authentication,
    # for CHAP use the ATTRIBUTE CHAP-Password instead, here CHAP-Password=rasuser
    Framed-IP-Address = 195.113.17.23,
    Framed-IP-Netmask = 255.255.255.255,
    BinTec-IpExtIfTable = "Accounting=on",
    # vendor-specific attribute, you must integrate the BinTec radius extension file!
    #
    http://www.bintec.de/download/brick/radius/raddict.txt
    BinTec-biboPPPTable = "DNSNegotiation=dynamic_server",
    Service-Type = Framed,
    Framed-Protocol = PPP,
    Idle-Timeout = 300

  5. At the Brick site configure the Radius Server with the setup-tool, IP->Radius Server:
